Baptism
Christian parents bring their children to be baptised with water as a sign of the new life in Christ and to be made members of God’s family the Church. The water is a sign of the promised gift of new life in the Holy Spirit.
In Baptism we declare that God’s love and grace are offered to all and we claim those promises for our children.
Marriage
A marriage service is the time when a solemn, legal contract is made between a man and a woman.
In
church the
ceremony is also an act of worship in which marriage is celebrated as a
gift
from God and the joy of the couple is shared and witnessed by family
and
friends.
Funerals
As Christians
we
believe that the death and resurrection of Jesus gives us hope and
cause for
thanksgiving in the face of death.
In this faith, we entrust those who have died to the infinite mercy and love of God. The services that we use on these occasions will reflect the wishes of the family as well as local traditions and culture.
