A favourite Bible story tells of Jesus talking to a large crowd
by the Sea of Galilee. In the evening they were tired and
hungry. Jesus took 5
loaves and 2 fishes offered by a little boy and provided
enough food for 5000 people.
When we planned to serve food in our welcome hall every day, it
seemed like a big task. So, recognising that we needed
to have faith that we could find volunteers to run the café and
that donations
would provide the food, we called it "Loaves and Fishes".
Our own miracle happened - thanks to the enthusiasm of the volunteers
and the generosity of our patrons we have "fed the 5000".
