Funerals
“Christ
has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have died.
For
since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead
has also
come through a human being; for as all die in Adam, so all will be made
alive
in Christ”.
(1 Corinthians 15)
As
Christians we
believe that the death and resurrection of Jesus gives us hope and
cause for
thanksgiving in the face of death. In this faith, we entrust those who
have
died to the infinite mercy and love of God. The services that we use on
these
occasions will reflect the wishes of the family as well as local
traditions and
culture.
Two
patterns of
funeral service are available. The first either begins or ends with a
service at
St Paul’s
with
a short committal at the crematorium or cemetery. The second is a
service
wholly at the crematorium conducted by the minister of St Paul’s.
For
further
information on both of these patterns of funeral service please contact
the
minister on revsueconroy@lycos.com.
